Our Favourite Valentines Day Films!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

If you are anything like me, today is just an excuse to get drunk with your mates midweek and watch a film. I don't want to go out to a restaurant and overspend on a set menu - I'd much rather stay in with a pizza and a decent film.

Whether you are single, married, divorced or a player - we highly recommend staying out of this years rat race and staying in and watching a good movie tonight!

Kate & I have pulled together our top Five Valentines Day Films to get you started on your movie watching binge. (Spoilers potentially ahead)

For the Romantics...

50 FIRST DATES - Kate loves this film and particularly the super sweet version of 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'. Whereas I can't really stand anything with Adam Sandler in, and he hardly strikes me as a hot 'catch'. So we are torn on this but make your own decisions based on the trailer... .

For the Cheesy...

LOVE ACTUALLY - Who can't relate to one of the relationships in this film. I am more tempted to relate to Bill Nighy and his dysfunctional friendship with his best mate and cringe at Colin Firths poor Portuguese - this is a Valentines Favourite.

Let's not try too much to think about how creepy it would be if your husband's best mate ruined your wedding day video by being a stalking creep...

For the slightly Unhinged...

TRUE ROMANCE It's Christian Slater. CHRISTIAN SLATER. Guns, etc Swoon.

For the Best Mates...

THE CRAFT Once, at a friends sleepover we stayed in a caravan in her back garden, listened to Alanis Morrisette and tried to do spells. Failed terribly and I can't remember the names of everyone there, but thats a solid Childhood memory. I think.

For the Valentine Day Haters...

Just don't want any thought of Love or Romance on your screen this evening? Well check out 12 ANGRY MEN. Yes, its black & white and old but this is perhaps one of the cleverest pieces of writing in a film I have ever seen - and it's all based in one room!
