Cameron Hay popped into the shop this year to show us his amazing art and we were thrilled that he wanted to work with us. We are excited to announce we recently commissioned an exclusive, limited edition screen print available now on the site!
Working under the name Kameeleon Tattoo, Cameron's studio offers bold, illustrative black work in Oldham, Manchester alongside his screenprinting and clothing line. This is a man with alot going on! We grabbed him to find out what makes him tick...
Ok Cameron - Lets go, Describe your perfect day to me
Make some good art, Play some good music and ride.
With that in mind, what sort of music do you like to listen to when you work?
I love to listen to music while I work, I used to listen to a lot of 60s music The kinks are probably my favourite but the last year or two i got really into ambience sort of stuff, like Bonobo, Darkside. Music is very influential for me.
Who would you say are some of your biggest influences?
Hard question as theres so many but to give names Phil Wilkinson has always inspired me Gre Hale, Joe ellis, Thieves of Tower, Grime, Mr Werewolf... I get a lot of inspiration from Instagram as its just so in your face.
And who do you think we should be checking out at the moment?
Josh Coburn, Kurt Mitchell, Marc Burton and Godsteeth
Right, lets get serious - what are your Goals for 2017 and what advice would you give to the S&R Crew?
It's simple, I want to look back on my life and say I fucking made it, That may mean something completely different in 20 years then it does now but I will always be making Art.
My advice is to make your whole life a piece of art. Wherever you go try to take a piece of that place and leave a piece of yourself behind.
And if anyone reading this like what they see and hear whats their best way to win you over?
Buy me a good coffee, some Californian rolls and play some Bonobo.
